Art Sonje Center presents My Words, My Home, the program in conjunction with the exhibition Dust Clay Stone. My Words, My Home was based on the idea of bringing the center and its visitors together in person to share experiences through each other’s languages. With the context of the larger themes of “migration,” “language,” and “identity,” the center communicates with its visitors through exhibitions centering on works of art, while invited visitors share experiences and texts in their own mother tongue. This is an opportunity for participants to talk about their own migration experiences and to share their favorite poetry, songs, and book passages with a wider group of people after viewing the exhibition while listening to commentary provided by the center.

Dates November 18–22, 2020 (five days)
Participants Anyone with experience migrating and learning a new language who wishes to share texts written in their mother tongue after viewing the exhibition
Admission Free
What to Prepare Short texts (poetry, song lyrics, brief book passages) written in the participant’s native language
*Interpretation will be provided.
*Two tickets will be provided after the program’s completion to allow participants to revisit the exhibition with friends, family members, and/or acquaintances with similar experiences.
