International Conference: The Images of the Cold War and Peace

With the aim of pioneering a new discipline of studies that explore the concept of peace in and from the Korean Peninsula, Seoul National University (SNU)’s Institute for Peace and Unification Studies (IPUS) performs and supports research on establishing lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula. This year, which marks the 67th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War, the SNU-IPUS is co-hosting, along with the Korean Association of the Cold War Studies and Art Sonje Center·REAL DMZ PROJECT an international conference on the images of the Cold War and Peace. The conference will bring together scholars and artists from China, Taiwan, Russia, and Germany, and organize discussions on the images and materials of the Korean War and the Cold War period and also on their legacies.
