[ASJC Talk & Lecture]
Art Sonje Center strives to provide opportunities for the community to not only experience the artworks but also gain insights into the artists’ creative process by establishing communication platforms where all can engage in creative and critical discussions on art. The [ASJC Talk & Lecture] program aims to foster an organic and dynamic ecosystem among creators, curators’ researchers, and participants.

The sensory perception of women’s body-space and the unconscious
Date & Time: Thu. 26 May 2023, 4pm
Venue: Arthall, Art Sonje Center

In this lecture, we examine the sensibility of the body and the space in Heidi Bucher’s work, in the aspect of feminine memory and the unconscious, and the shared subjectivity of morphology. We explore the functionality of the body-space as a counter-architectural and temporal veil, as well as the process of ‘metamorphosis,’ in which the skin is preserved and rematerialized, and discuss these topics in relation to the genres of contemporary feminist art and practice.
