The Second Korea International Ethnographic Film Festival 2019

Art Sonje Center will hold the 2nd Korea International Ethnographic Film Festival (KIEFF) for two days from December 27-28, 2019 with Korean Society for Visual Anthropology (KSVA). Ethnographic film is a genre that has been developed by absorbing various cultural perspectives and traditions of visual media. In the past, it refers to film produced by anthropologists. However, recently it is widely understood as films that present the understandings gained by the filmmakers who spent a considerable time living with the subjects of the films through diverse cinematic techniques. The film festival features five films covering various regions, including Mongolia, Columbia and China, and two films for Indonesian special session. It will be a chance to provide an opportunity to discover the differences in life across the globe and consider new possibilities of the film.
