Different Versions of the Same Story

Tue, Sep 1 – Sun, Sep 6, 2026

Hanok Garden, Art Sonje Center

Different Versions of the Same Story

Different Versions of the Same Story features moving-images that unfold across two distinct spaces at Art Sonje Center. In the garden, a large outdoor screen presents a rotating program of single-channel videos for the public in open air, audible through wireless headphones, and in the building’s mechanical room—usually closed to the public—additional works run among the machinery with open sound. Bringing together twenty works by artists from across Asia, Europe and the Americas—alongside music video, game footage and street-shot films—the screening program asks what remains of a story, or a self, once it has been retold.

* The screening program will end at 3:00 PM on September 3 due to Samcheong Night event.
* The Hanok Garden is open to the public free of charge. Access to the screenings in the Mechanical Room requires a museum admission ticket.
