Call for Performers: Ru Kim, A Performance about Courage in Three Chapters: War, Dogs, and Blood

We are seeking performers to collaboratively develop Ru Kim’s A performance about Courage in three chapters: War, Dogs, and Blood, presented as part of Spectrosynthesis Seoul, on view at Art Sonje Center. This performance reflects on the meaning of ‘courage’ in an age of catastrophe and stems from the artist’s video work COURAGEOUS (2025) featured in the exhibition.

War, Dogs, and Blood examines and problematizes hierarchical power structures and relationships—such as a dog and its master, or students and their instructor—where authority is clearly defined. Selected performers will collaborate with the artist to propose and reconfigure gestures of “courage” through movement and the body. The workshop process will center around prioritizing lived experiences of the participants to imagine a co-choreography.
