In celebration of its opening, the Art Sonje Center is pleased to present Reflection. Selected works from the permanent collection are on display, providing an excellent opportunity to reflect on the development of Korean modern art by featuring works of several established modern Korean artists. The show’s title Reflections was chosen by Art Sonje Center for a number of reasons. For one, it allows a person to look back and marvel at the footsteps of past generations instead of merely looking ahead into the future. Second, one can visibly appreciate the importance of senior Korean artists who have been a key driving force and supporting power in the contemporary Korean art world. Lastly, this inaugural exhibition is being held in the hopes that the newly formed Art Sonje Center will in the future create a reflection on Korean modern art.
