KOREAMERICAKOREA

This exhibition features works by Korean-Americans who share the same ethnic roots and deal with problems relating to identity, time, and space but lead different life styles. This exhibition offers a fresh framework of time and space immanent in the works of young contemporary Korean-American artists. KOREAMERICAKOREA emphasizes the unique memories and experiences each has formed while living in different time zones as well as the existing distances between the two countries. The exhibition creates a newly changed notion of Korean-American identity and probes into the current positions of Korean-American artists working in America. At the same time, it provides an opportunity for cultural exchanges between Korea and America. The exhibition has been co-curated by Art Sonje and David Ross, Director of San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
