2mc1dj: Event Volume 3

Art Sonje Center presents 2mc1dj: Event Volume 3, on view in the Art Hall from October 27 through December 6, 2026. Created by the collective 2mc1dj—Heecheon Kim, Haryung Lee, and Seungtaek Hong—the 90-minute work takes the form of a sound play with no projected image. It brings together three interconnected plays set in Waits, a fictional underground club. While all three share the atmosphere of a contemporary underground club and unfold around moments before, during, and after a performance, each tells a distinct story. Seated in the basement theater before an empty screen, audiences experience the scenes through dialogue, music, ambience, and foley, with the entire world of the work constructed through sound.

About the Artist
2mc1dj (since 2026)
2mc1dj is a collective of three artists—Heecheon Kim, Haryung Lee, and Seungtaek Hong. Working both within and beyond the field of art, the collective draws on the forms of moving image, music, and literature. Their practice centres on constructing narratives at the intersection of these disciplines, exploring how stories take shape in the spaces between different media.

Event Volume 3 (FM) (working title)
Date: November 2026 (TBC)
Venue: Art Hall, Art Sonje Center
Alongside the exhibition, 2mc1dj will present Event Volume 3 (FM) (working title), a late-night radio program featuring the three members of the collective in conversation with a radio host. Broadcast through the speakers in the Art Hall, the program invites audiences to submit questions and comments via phone or text message. The broadcast will conclude with a recording by the band come, featured in Seungtaek Hong’s sound play Under One Umbrella.
