– Venue: COEX
Raw Proof consists of characters from Yagwang’s previous video works Intruder (2024)and Visitor (2024). Each performer moves according to the inertia of their character as revealed in the video works, executing gestures inspired by professional wrestling, cleaning, or introducing the room they occupy. The labor and movement omitted during the original video productions are reconstructed and re-edited through a live, simultaneous broadcast format. As a reverberation of Raw Proof, performed the previous night at Dosan Park, this concluding performance unfolds within the Frieze venue. In a slow, continuous procession through the exhibition space, each performer shares their own story through movement, song, and spoken word—allowing their narratives to resonate and vibrate through the space.

Two pole dancers perform an improvised dance to the melodies of iconic pop songs by female artists from the 2000s and 2010s, played live by a pianist. The key rule is that they must not come down from the pole. If one dancer becomes too exhausted to continue, another takes their place in a relay format. The performance ends when neither can climb back up. As the dancers take turns moving to the pianist’s playing, and as the audience instinctively hums along to the familiar tunes lodged in their memories, the improvisation that flows between the pianist and the dancers also echoes—delayed but resonant—between the performers and the audience.
Ru Kim, a fist is a fist is a fist: Ignition
– Date: Fri, September 5, 2025 at 17:00
– Venue: KUKJE GALLERY K2
a fist is a fist is a fist is a serial project of Ru Kim that unfolds through performances and exhibitions. The “fist” serves as a potent symbol, charged with layered social meanings. Its nature shifts—sometimes dramatized, sometimes radically transformed—depending on the shape of the clenched hand, the context of its encounter, and the nuances of its prefix. “Ignition” typically denotes the moment fire begins, but it can also signify the blooming of a plant or the cultural flourishing of a particular time. Beneath the variations of sound, the performance hints at the act of releasing a clenched fist—softening each joint with a crisp “snap”—before forming a new fist once again, setting forth on an unfamiliar path and embracing intentional divergence.
