Artist Talk: Koki Tanaka

Art Sonje Center is pleased to announce an online artist talk and book launch event with Koki Tanaka. On the talk, Takana will reflect on the production of ‘Vulnerable Histories (A Road Movie)’ (2018) from shooting to making it as a form of exhibition at Art Sonje Center. An introduction to his forthcoming publication ‘Reflective Notes (Recent Writings)’, an anthology of his recent texts during and before the pandemic, will be followed by Tanaka’s presentation. Working together with diverse individuals of different backgrounds, Tanaka has written more than a dozen of texts on his thoughts evoked during the production of the work, especially about the process of making and conversation with the participants. Tanaka’s new book is written in English, Japanese and Korean.

Celebrating Tanaka’s book Reflective Notes (Recent Writings) co-published by Art Sonje Center and Bijutsu Shuppan-sha, the talk will reflect on Tanaka’s previous works as well as his ways of keeping up the artistic practice during the pandemic.
